Nidek PHANTOM: revolutionary open-field binocular system

The Nidek PHANTOM is not a step forward in refraction, but a completely new way of measuring. Where traditional refraction revolves around changing lenses and comparing options, this revolutionary open-field binocular system does things completely differently.

Thanks to advanced virtual lens technology, the optical properties of real lenses are digitally simulated without physical lenses or a phoropter being placed in front of the eye. During the measurement, the customer looks straight ahead with both eyes at the same time in a natural viewing direction, with the image as it were floating in space. This method of measurement helps limit influences such as instrument myopia, accommodative instability and variations in pupil size.

What makes the PHANTOM even more unique is open-field binocular measurement. This is complemented by objective and subjective measurement within a single device. The binocular measurement yields a result that is close to the final correction, while refraction time is significantly reduced to less than 4.5 minutes*.
